Sajek Valley is located on the northern border of Bagaichori, in the Rangamati district. Sajek is the largest union in Bangladesh, with an area of 702 square miles. Sajek has Tripura in the north, Longadu in Rangamati in the south, Mizoram in the east and Khagrachari upazila in the west.
The name of Sajek Valley came from the Sajek River that originates from Karnafuli river. The Sajek river is located at the border between Bangladesh and India.
Although Sajek is located in the Rangamati district but the transportation facility is better than Dighinala in Khagrachari. Sajek is 70 km from Khagrachari district zeo point and 49 km from Dighinala. 34 km from Baghaihat.
From Khagrachari you have to go to Sajek Valley via Dighinala Army Camp. On the way, you will get 10 no. Baghaihat Police Camp and Army Camp, from where you must take permission to go to Sajek. Then the Kasalong Bridge where the 2 rivers joined to become the Kasalong River. Later Tiger Tila Army Post and Masalong Bazar.
After crossing Masalong Bazar, you will reach the first village of Sajek, Ruilui Para, which has an altitude of 1720 feet. Its oldest population is Lusai. Pankua and Tripuras also live there. This neighborhood was established in 1885. Sajek will reach from Ruilui Para in a short time.
Sajek’s BGB camp is the highest BGB camp in Bangladesh. Here is the helipad. A two to two and a half hour trek from Sajek’s Ruilui Para can reach the beautiful Kamalak Jharna. Kamalak Jharna is popularly known as Pidam Taisa Jharna or Sikkam Taisa Jharna.

Who was with the Team?
I along with Rafe Mursaline, Kamruzzamn Mahfuz And Khorshad Alam was on the last tour. Earlier Mursaline, Mahfuz and I made a fantastic tour, later on, i will share the tour with you. Khorshad was new to our team although we are known for a couple of years.
How was the plan?
On 5th June Rafe Mursaline let me know they were going on a motorcycle trip. As we went to several tours earlier he insisted me to go with them. Although I was busy that time i planned to go with them. At first, I didn’t know whom i going with.
I ask him who is going with us. He tells me that brother Mahfuz and brother Khorshad will be the accompany with us. We fixed a meeting at Mursaline’s Moto parts store for rest of the tour plan. We set a detailed plan for the trip.
When did the Journey started?
On 9th March we met on Mayor Hanif Flyover at 1 am. I was surprised, i saw another two members on the team. Lovlu and Tarek were going with us for a day trip. In the name of Allah, We started the ride at 1.30pm with 80-90 km/hr average speed. At 2.45 pm we reached at MIAMI Leisure Spot in Comilla. We had your meal here.
From Miami, at 3.30 am we started our journey towards Baraiyarhat, from where we left Dhaka-Chittagong highway and entered to Khagrachori Road. We reached there at 5 am. We paused our journey here then performed Fazar prayer and had a cup of tea to eliminate sleepy mood.
However, Lovelu vai got apart from here and started to ride towards Bandorban. The left of us started the ride at 6 am and reached to Jaliapara Bus stand at 7.30 am. We took breakfast here. From Jaliapara we started at 8.00 am towards Baghaihat Army Check post. After one hour ride, Tarek left us and started back towards to Dhaka.
We reached the Baghaihat Army camp 10.30 am. Already , the army escort left the camp ! We were worried if army didn’t let us to go towards Sajek! Because the area is somewhat risky and usually without escort, no tourist is let to go to Sajek.
However, they let us go after completing the formalities. We set our go pro and started towards Sajek with a jolly mind. Khorshed vai is a funny man. He provided lots of fun on the way Sajek. Finally, we reached Sajek at 11.40 am.
We stayed at Himalchol Resort on the first day. After Jumma prayer we took a short sleep as we were awake last night. At the afternoon we went to Sajek helipad and having lots of fun there.
After taking dinner we came back to Himachol Resort, in a sudden we noticed that fire break out the outside ! The fire was set for zoom cultivation meanwhile the fire went out of control. The fire reached to our resort . We were getting the heat of the fire and our room was filled with ashes. We were ready to leave the resort with in 1 minute notice.
However, after 45 minutes fire got control with the help of the army and local people. Without any further hustle, we spend the night here.
Next morning we shifted to Abakash resort. Abakash is one the top beautiful resort at Sajek. The owner of the resort is Maruati . She is such an amazing woman. Every time we go to Sajek, we meet with Maruati didi.
We took the room on the top floor. And the room was view side ! It’s was amazing to see the whole sajek from the resort veranda. From noon to afternoon we enjoyed the different scenic views of the sajek. The most lucrative view of sajek is Cloud. When cloud surrounded the sajek it’s looked like a heavenly view. And this is the most awaited moment for any tourist. We became the witness of the view at the evening !
BTW I forgot to tell you at the noon we prepared tea at veranda and then had it with jolly mind. On every trip, I usually carry a portable stove with necessary emergency groceries with me.
This night we took dinner with bamboo chicken, a local renowned food . This is like, a bamboo hollow space is filled with spices chickens and cooked it with wooden fire. We gossiped till the mid night .
Next morning we left sajek with a good vibe and started our journey towards Bandorban via khagrachari-Sindhuksori-Rangamati- Chandraghona, Ferry Ghat- Bandorban. Later on I will describe the Bandorban tour log. . …
